 How To Partition Your Laptop's Drive 








Partitioning you PC means dividing your PC's drive for example if you drive is 500GB
you could partition it to 350GB and 150GB.

You might want to partition you drive if you want to for example,
dual boot you pc (install two different versions of windows),
you might also want to move your files to a different partition so that you
can update windows without loosing your files,
you may want to have more drives on your PC,
or just for other reasons i might not know they are just known to you.
(but i don't advice having more than 4 or 5 drives or partitions it might
affect your PC. Though am not certain it will).

So now we are going to work with 2GB.
Firstly you could right click on the windows icon or tap windows key + x
you should see this. Then click disk management

This should now open.

Now, right click on the drive you want to shrink for example i want to shrink
windows(c:)
and click on shrink volume

 You should see this

Put in the amount you want to shrink (since 1GB = 1024MB therefore 2GB = 2048MB)
in the box that is highlighted(3rd box)
and click shrink.

You should now see it like this

Then right click on it and click "new simple volume"

Now, the new simple volume wizard will then click next

It will then ask you to specify the volume size now leave it as default like
in this picture and click next (don't reduce the value)

You will now see this picture below you can just leave it like this or just change
 the drive letter and click next

Then tick the radio button i highlighted as 1
leave file system to be "ntfs"
allocation size unit to default
in volume label write the name you want to give to your new drive
tick perform a quick format.
(if yours is default like the picture below just leave it like that)
and click next

Here you can just press finish it will be done.

You can now see it here

and even in file manager below

There are many reasons why you might want to boot  safe mode on your PC.
It might be your PC is misbehaving,
Your PC might be affected by virus ,
You might want to install some software,
You might want to test some things,
You might want to check programs that are misbehaving
and other cool stuffs you might want to do.

So booting in safe mood means booting your PC such that only important programs
and devices are started.

so it has to limit your functions with your PC for example you might not be able to
access the internet and even open some applications
so lets get started .

First of all you may want to right click on the windows icon  or windows button
+ x  you should see this  then you click run.

Then you should have to to type "msconfig" in there and hit enter

And then tap the boot tab you should now see this

Tick safe boot and leave minimal under safe boot and then OK

You should now see this then click restart (save any work and close all applications) and boom you are there.

Have you been somewhere that there is no power supply or you forgot your adapter at home just see that your batter is not fully charged and you got important stuff to do and you battery would not last
that long for you to finish? I think you might consider these tips important.

PERIPHERALS:
Do not leave  external DVD or hard disk connected because
they waste energy spining when ever you launch the windows explorer
or want to save a file. Mouse, keyboard and other unneccessary ones
should be removed from the computer so that they do not waste energy
when they are not needed.

SCREEN RESOLUTION:
You might also need to lower your laptops screen resolution which would save
energy but you might not find it comfortable. If it is worth a try why not try it.


KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT:
The keyboards backlight also drains useful energy so if you could switch it
off when it not necessary it would save you energy. So there is no need of
the backlight during the day time and even in the night if yoyur room is
bright.

SCREEN BRIGHTNESS:
The laptop screen is one of key factors of power drainage.
The screen's backlight is what allows you to see colours on an LCD screen
older laptops have power draining flourescent backlights which reduces
the uptime of the battery.Modern laptops have LED(Light Emmiting Diode)
backlights which use a lesser amount of energy compared to the former.
So dimming the screen to about 50% would favour your battery.

WIFI AND BLUETOOTH DEVICES:
I advice to switch off your laptop's bluetooth and wifi. Although modern
bluetooth and wifi adapters do not sap energy on standby or while idle.
So if you can disconnect from any unimportant network you are connected
to.

SINGLE TASKING:
You could improve your battery life by single tasking your computer.
ALthough multi-tasking makes sense and its actually the best choice to enjoy
working on your computer it give much work to your processor using more energy
and sapping your laptops battery it could also cause heating of your processor
hence even using a higher amount of energy. So I think its better to make your
work simpler by single tasking your computer and reducing the work load on the
computer and the battery

UPGRADE:
Upgrade your driver to the latest which would help for better functioning and
efficiency .
Upgrading your laptops drive to SSD will also help to save power because
mechanical hard disks require higher energy to spin and it would also make
your laptop a lot faster.

BACKGROUND APPLICATIONS:
You would also need to deal with background app that are sapping your laptops
battery. To do that, right click on the taskbar

and enter task manager

select the task you want to stop and click end task

SPACE:
You should also make for allowance for the cooler of your laptop so that
it does not not heat. When there is no space for the cooler and the laptop is
getting hot it keeps using more power to spin the cooling fan. Also heating
is not good at all for your battery it destroys the batery's life span thereby
reducing the efficiency of your battery so it would be better to keep it on a desk
or table ontop of something like a book anything just a little high so that there
would be cooling and ventilation.

POWER SAVER:
finally you would need to switch to power saving mode or Eco mode
so as to save power.
To activate power saving mode you should just tap the battery icon at the task bar.

It seems annoying that a pc that was once fast has turned into a zombie. So here are few steps that would help to make it fast again.

1) I) Right click on the windows icon on your task bar at the
     left bottom of your computer screen .

     II) Click run then type %temp% and hit enter ( a folder that
          contains redundant and useless files will open ).

     III) click ctrl+a and delete all permanently by pressing
          shift+del or shift+delete.

now do the process and type prefetch without % and do
 thesame thing
(your computer may not allow you to delete some files
so leave those ones).

2) I) Now click the windows icon or go to start menu and search
 disk cleanup.

   II) Enter it now select your pc's main drive

 III) Click ok it should now start scanning for files to cleanup

IV)when it is done tick the all the boxes for the files to delete and then ok and confirm the deletion.

3) i) Right click on the windows icon on your task bar at the  left bottom of your computer screen and click system

   ii) By the left side of the screen click advanced system settings

                               

  iii) Under performance click settings

   iv) Now click the advanced tab

    v) Now click change

   vi) Untick the box marked 1 select custom size
then fill the two boxes with the size by which you want
to virtualy increase your ram
n.b(1gb = 1024mb)
then click set and then ok.

How To Unlock A Locked Memory Card

 One of the most annoying things is to forget the password of your memory card or flash drive, and you remember that to get the memory card back you have to lose your files .The most annoying aspect is that you are going to lose your pictures and you know for sure  you are not gonna get the pictures anywhere else but you dont have a choice.But if you have been looking for a way you just landed in the right place today am going to show you various ways to unlock your memory card.

1st Method:In this mehod we are going to use cmd hidden atribute of the locked memory card

Requirement:
    1.Computer System
    2.An Unlocked Memory Card(Good Memory Card)
    3.A Locked Memory Card
    4.Card Reader
    5.CMD

Procedure
  Step 1.Insert The Unlocked Memory Card Into The Card Reader To Identify Your      Drive letter And      Insert Into The Computer.

  Step 2.Open CMD As Administrator (Windows 7:Hold Windows Key And R And Then Type
     CMD Run ) OR
     (Windows 8:Go To Your Start Menu And Type Cmd Then Right-Click It And                            Click Run As Administrator).

  Step 3.Now, Open Your File Explorer To Confirm The Drive Name IT should be "G:"
         But It Can Be Any Name Like "F:" Mine Is "I:".

  Step 4.Now, Remove The Card Reader And Remove The Good(Unlocked) Memory Card
     From The Card Reader And Insert The Locked Memory Into The Card Reader                       And Plug It Back Into The same Port You Removed It From.
   
  Step 5.Now, Go To Command Prompt And Type The Command "attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*" And           Hit Enter.(Make Sure You Replace "g:" With Your Drive Letter. Make Sure To Give The           Spaces)
